5G Viettel on Android phones: Supported devices, setup, and fixes

Viettel 5G on Android phones offers significantly faster speeds, lower latency, and a more stable network experience across Vietnam. However, performance depends on device compatibility, correct settings, and proper troubleshooting. Most flagship Android phones such as Samsung Galaxy S and Z series, Google Pixel, Xiaomi 13/14, OPPO Find X, and OnePlus 11/12 support Viettel 5G. Many mid-range devices like the Samsung Galaxy A series, Xiaomi Redmi Note, OPPO Reno, and Vivo V/Y models also work, provided they support the necessary 5G frequency bands and have updated software.

To enable 5G, users must access Settings → Mobile Network → Network Mode and select 5G/LTE/3G/2G (Auto Connect). Even with a compatible phone, users might encounter issues such as the 5G option not appearing, no 5G signal, unstable speeds, or increased battery drain. These issues can be resolved through steps like updating firmware, upgrading the SIM card to a 5G-ready version, resetting network settings, moving to a stronger coverage area, or temporarily switching back to 4G.

A 4G/5G-enabled SIM is required to access Viettel 5G. If the 5G option is missing despite being in a coverage area, it’s typically due to unsupported frequency bands or outdated carrier configurations. For further support, users can contact Viettel’s hotline or visit the official website.
